CAMRA Victoria
Greg Evans Memorial Walk
“Spring Ridge” Edition
Sunday, April 21st – 12:50 pm – 4:00 pm
Meeting at Fernwood Square.
On Sunday, April 21st we will be honouring our long time member, friend, and local historian Greg Evans by hosting our annual brewing history walk.
Join us on an entertaining and educational walking tour celebrating the legacy of Greg Evans, Victoria’s beer historian, who passed away in December 2018.
Greg was well known for his engaging talks about local beer history, including several classes he led on topics such as BC’s Prohibition and Victoria’s Early Brewers and was a long time member of The Campaign For Real Ale Society of British Columbia.
Our last two were well attended and extremely interesting thanks to our guide Chris Adams of “Discover the Past” history tours.
This year we will be leaving the downtown core and, with our guide and historian Chris, explore the historical neighbourhood of “Spring Ridge”, or as most of you likely know it as, Fernwood!
We will be meeting in the main Fernwood Square outside of the Belfry Theatre at 12:50pm to start the walk at 1pm.
The tour will be approximately 75 minutes and we will then meet for a post walk wrap at the Fernwood Inn where members will receive a complimentary pint (included with their $20 tour ticket).
Once the tour is over, members are more than welcome to stick around and chat with Chris and view some of the items collected by Greg Evans
If you can’t attend the walk but wish to join us in the pub please let us know so we can adjust the reservation as needed.
Parking is limited in this area so please plan accordingly for a punctual arrival and safe ride home.
Space is limited to 25 people.
A $20 TICKET WILL GRANT –
• auditory headphone system to ensure each person can hear the guide
• an entertaining and informative walking tour
• one pint of beer for CAMRA Members at The Fernwood Inn at the end of the tour/
